Your Baseball Season Guide to Pre- and Post-Game Eats and Drinks in Arlington
By Lauren Drewes Daniels
Needle drops: The Brutal Juice reunion we mentioned a few weeks ago now has a date attached: December 29 at Trees, with Baboon and The pAper chAse. In the meantime, and on a completely unrelated note, Starlight Mints make their only area stop on November 4 at Good Records, and you should go check 'em out. The fun, which includes free beer and BBQ, starts at 3 p.m. Continuing on the same unrelated thread, The Good Sons, a Nick Cave/The Birthday Party tribute band featuring ex/current members of The Falcon Project, debuts on November 3 at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios, opening for The Smiling Bag. And The Rocket Summer will perform on The Adventure Club on Sunday, making its first live appearance in a while/ever. Definitely get a tape out...
In case you haven't heard, The Flaming Lips will play November 9 at the Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth, making their only Texas stop on their current tour. If you already saw them do their headphones-and-giant-video-screen act the last two times they came through, at Deep Ellum Live and Trees, and want a reason to come out a third time, Bradley Beesley's documentary, The Flaming Lips Have Landed, will premiere on the Ridglea's three-story screen before the band breaks out the hand puppets and bags o' confetti. So, you know, there's that.
