The hiatus is over for The Legendary Fritz

While we wouldn't necessarily suggest that you truck down to Austin for the impending South By Southwest Music Festival, if you happen to make the trip, a ton of local bands will be heading down with you. (By the way, a wristband, which will maybe get you in to all of the shows, will set you back $85, and you have to purchase it in Austin.) Anyhoo, representing the D-D-FW area at the annual week of music-industry fellatio will be: Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat, Pleasant Grove, Baboon, Flickerstick, Chomsky, The Deathray Davies, Clumsy, Centro-matic, Dixie Witch, Speedealer, Slobberbone, Mental Chaos, Shabazz 3, Brave Combo, Tara M.A. Sheth, Wayward Shamans (which features Joe Cripps), Yeti, Stumptone, Mandarin, Sub Oslo, Evamore, Stara Zagora, Slow Roosevelt, Zac Maloy, Mercova, Lift to Experience, and last but not least, The Toadies. Head to www.sxsw.com, where they have tentative schedules available, so you can plan your nights. Or, just check our own music listings, so you can see when all the bands that are playing at SXSW are playing here. Hey, it's cheaper, and almost every good band has a gig lined up in Big or Little D. And a few are even playing Fort Worth. Imagine that...

Good Records figures to be one of the busiest venues before, after, and during South By Southwest, with a full schedule of in-store performances lined up. Such as: Enemymine on March 14 at 6 p.m., The Minders (3 p.m.), Superdrag (4 p.m.), and Calla (6 p.m.) on March 15, and Japancakes on March 16 at 6 p.m. Expect more to be added, as the festival's lineup solidifies. You can keep tabs by checking out the store's site, www.goodrecords.com, recently overhauled by co-owner Erik Courson. Or you can just stop by and play some Centipede. As always, you make the call...

Show offs: Earl Harvin Trio will be at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios on March 6; Budapest One is at Barley House on March 3; and, uh, that's it. When does Trees reopen again?

When Legendary Crystal Chandelier plays Rubber Gloves on March 2, there’s going to be a Trainwreck. And we don’t mean because the club is right next to the tracks, either.
