Wednesday, July 2
Uncle Jesse from The Dukes of Hazzard wore a hat, sported a beard and he always did what was right even if it meant turning the other cheek. He is not, however, the famous uncle being celebrated during this week's Wonderful Wednesday series at the Dallas Children's Museum. That would be Uncle Sam, also hatted, bearded and, as animated representative of the American government, also always...uh, never mind. Let kids be kids. And today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. they can visit with Uncle Sam, make hats and beards to wear themselves and get red, white and blue face paintings. There will also be story times at 10 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 12:50 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. Event admission is free with museum admission, which is $2 to $4. Children 2 and under are admitted free. The Dallas Children's Museum is in Valley View Center. Call 972-386-6555.
