Comedy 101

Shtickmen shows the ups and downs of stand-up

You may recognize the star and writer of the comedy mockumentary Shtickmen, Dean Lewis, as the co-host of 102.1 The Edge's morning show. Or you could have seen him in Vegas, winning his weight in hamburgers at the Wendy's "Stand Up For Good Taste" Comedy Challenge. Now you can see him in person as he hosts the movie's DVD release party. Joined by filmmakers Eric Jewell and Jeff Hays, the trio will show some of their favorite scenes and engage in a little audience Q&A. Shtickmen tells the story of Lewis' character, Jerry Martin: a would-be stand-up who teaches comedy classes to pay the bills. As one reviewer so eloquently explained, "[It's] like Best in Show, but about comedians instead of dogs."
