Sally Crewe and the Sudden Moves

Friday, June 24, at Gypsy Tea Room

In 2003, Briton Sally Crewe released what has become my favorite guilty-pleasure album of the aughts. The pop-rock tunes about cars and boys on debut album Drive It Like You Stole It are cut to the bone so thinly that even Lindsay Lohan seems chubby in comparison. Similarities to Spoon's razor-thin pop are actually quite intentional, especially since the Austin band played on her album, and Spoon fans who head to Gypsy Tea Room on Friday would be foolish to miss Crewe's catchy opening set. Show up as early as you can.
