It must be so tiring to shop in France. A patisserie for cakes, a boulangerie for bread, a boucherie for meat--and all this without the benefit of an SUV to carry everything home. This is why in America we have places such as Grapevine Mills Mall and Super Wal-Mart. You can get your tires rotated, portrait taken and eyes examined before dining on McDonald's finest and supporting the economies of Southeast Asia through clothing purchases. Why go five places when one will do? This handy concept is also behind the seventh annual Fort Worth Bridal Show. With 150 vendors in a 100,000-square-foot space, this is the second-largest event of its kind in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They have wedding receptions and Western wear, door prizes and dance instruction, rings and real estate, so say bonjour to one-stop shopping for weddings. The bridal show runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23 and July 24 at the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall, Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3401 W. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth. Admission is $7 at the door. If you are a fan of MTV's Cribs, then you, like me, always want to ask: "Hey, what about those yachts or boats rich folks rendezvous on?" Here is the answer to that burning question regarding those party barges you hear about but so rarely see parked next to the Bentleys and yellow Hummers. Through July 24, there will be a boat show at Dallas Market Hall, Stemmons Freeway at Wycliff Avenue, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. I'm not looking forward to having kids. I'm not expecting any soon, and I guess I have some say over it happening, but I'm pretty sure I'll go along with it when I marry, because it'll seem like the thing to do--and once I go along with it, I'm telling ya, I'm not going to be happy at all. I like my freedom too much. Take this Dora the Explorer Live: Dora's Pirate Adventureat the Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie this weekend. You're telling me I'd have to pay $20, maybe as much as $43, per person to sit there with my kid and sing along as Dora and the other preschoolers trek over Music Mountain and the silly Singing Bridge? As they confront the terrible Pirate Piggies? I guess that's love or something. The Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie is at 1001 Performance Place.
