If you think country music is all about longnecks and two-steps, well, you're wrong. But if you're headed to Cowboys Arlington to see Deryl Dodd and the Homesick Cowboys, it won't much matter. Armed with an arsenal of songs about honky-tonks and heartache, pearl snaps and rodeos, Dodd is a hardworking club-circuit performer. Which is not a bad thing. The Dallas native isn't selling out arenas or making appearances in Hollywood movies--an odd trend for country artists that we hope ends soon--but he is sweating his way through barroom gigs, singing his songs and meeting his fans. And that means you should expect a down-home, good-time show that won't cost a nickel and might just be the most fun you can have with your boots on.
