Trapped By It

I remember clearly the day my sister was relieved of baby-sitting duties. It was rainy, and Mom was out for the afternoon. Instead of watching me, my sister was totally watching Christopher Reeve, Dyan Cannon and Michael Caine in Deathtrap...and so was I. After that initial viewing, I think it's safe to say that I've watched every airing of the film (having instantly become obsessed with every aspect of Sidney Lumet's version of Ira Levin's stage thriller—from the credit sequence to the dreamy Reeve to that bizarre image of the teddy bear crying tears of blood). For sis' sake, it's too bad Mom wasn't thrilled that her youngest took to walking around repeating the lovely adage, "What's the point of owning a mace if you don’t use it?" The Labyrinth Theatre, 1400 W. Arapaho Road in Richardson, offers but three more chances to see its take on Levin's classic: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $16 to $25. Call 972-231-1012 or visit labyrinththeatre.com.
Feb. 23-25, 7:30 p.m.
