Totally Buggin'

The DMNH offers a day of kid-friendly critters

There are two kinds of kids in this world: kids who dig bugs and kids who are scared shitless by them. When they grow up, they will be further sorted into the two kinds of adults in this world: people who understand deep, troubling irony and people who do not. Apparently, kids who like bugs grow up to be people who do not understand deep, troubling irony or else the sponsor of the upcoming Bug Day at the Dallas Museum of Natural History would not be Terminix. That's like getting Planned Parenthood to sponsor PTA meetings. It's just poor taste. But indeed, the company, whose motto is "No Bugs. No Hassles." is getting behind the day of insect-lovin' fun. Bugs will be available for petting, and a "biggest bug" contest will be held for those who want to bring critters from home. Ugh. Bug Day lasts from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, March 4. The Dallas Museum of Natural History is located at 3535 Grand Ave. in Fair Park, and admission is $4 to $7, depending on age. Kids under 3 get in free. Call 214-421-3466 or visit dallasdino.org.
Sat., March 4, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
