Viva La Revolución!

This weekend, Southfork becomes The Range

The only reason to listen to Dallas FM radio, other than KERA and The Ticket, is 95.3 The Range. These guys, who started broadcasting in 1997, are the answer to the absolute shit mainstream country music has become (I'm talking to you, Kenny Chesney, you puka-shelled, barefooted, NASCAR-loving son of a bitch). In their words, The Range plays rebel country like Robert Earl Keen, Townes Van Zandt and Ray Wylie Hubbard—real musicians who pay homage to guys like Cash, Haggard and Hank Sr. On Sunday, the Range sponsors the 10th Annual KHYI Texas Music Revolution. The all-day event, which starts at 1 p.m., includes Robert Earl Keen, Radney Foster, Chris Knight, the Lost Immigrants, Pinmonkey and others. Tickets are $25 in advance or $40 at the door. The event takes place at Southfork Ranch, 3700 Hogge St. in Parker. Visit khyi.com or southfork.com.
Sun., March 19, 1 p.m.
