Swords and Swashes

Men in tights take the stage

I don't know why I never saw The Three Musketeers. Something with Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland and Chris O'Donnell in tights has got to be good, especially if they're playing swashbuckling swordsmen named Aramis, Athos and D'Artagnan respectively, and especially if, according to IMDB, "jokes and stunts are the expected fare in this light-hearted and jaunty adventure." That sounds good, but what sounds even better is "a fresh stage adaptation" at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth Wednesday at 7 p.m. "The setting is Paris. The year is 1625," a press release reads. "...As the multiple plots unfold, swords are crossed, damsels are rescued, villains are foiled, honor is preserved and swashes are buckled—giving rise to the Musketeers' famous rallying cry, 'One for all and all for one!'" Better still: Explain to me how to buckle a swash and I’ll do it...in tights. Tickets range from $17 to $40 and can be ordered by phone 817-212-4280 or online at basshall.com. Tickets are also available at the Bass Performance Hall ticket office at 525 Commerce St.
Wed., March 29, 7 p.m.
