Jerry Jeff Walker and Django Walker

Monday, March 27, at Bass Performance Hall

In "Django's Lullaby," gypsy songman Jerry Jeff Walker sings about his young son to a sappy-sweet good-night melody. "I hope the music that I play while he's dreaming stays with him all the rest of his days," he sings. Well, it's been 20 years since Jerry Jeff recorded that song, and it looks like little Django was paying attention, because now the boy is following in his old man's footsteps: writing, playing and hanging with the in-crowd of Texas country. (Having been befriended by the likes of Pat Green hasn't hurt Django's name recognition either.) See a family tradition in action when father and son perform together at Bass Performance Hall on Monday.
