If you're a Neil Young fan and your ears still haven't quit ringing from the last time he played over in Fair Park, then watching his recent concert film Heart of Gold in the sophisticated confines of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will definitely be more your speed. Plenty of reviews have blathered about the concert documentary shot by Jonathan Demme at Nashville's famous Ryman Auditorium and Young's recent brush with mortality, but here's some actual useful information: If you're expecting a greatest hits show then take your bathroom break early, because the first half is all from Young's latest album Prairie Wind. Emmylou Harris and Young's wife Pegi sing backing vocals, but it's third backup singer Diana DeWitt that's the most fascinating to watch. Every second she's onstage she eerily stares Young down as if she's been harboring a schoolgirl crush that's developed into a full-blown obsession. And longtime Young fans will appreciate Young dedicating "Comes a Time" to the late Nicolette Larson. Heart of Gold screens at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $7.50. Call 817-738-9215 or visit www.themodern.org.
Fri., April 21, 6, 8 & 10 p.m.; Sat., April 22, 2 & 5 p.m.; Sun., April 23, 2 & 4 p.m.
