George Lopez hits Nokia

You might have seen comedian George Lopez on his hit ABC sitcom (the cleverly titled George Lopez) or in the Robert Rodriguez film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D. You might have also caught him on the stand during last year's infamous Michael Jackson trial. You see, Mr. Lopez was one of several other celebrities (the list also included Adam Sandler, Chris Tucker and Jay Leno) that MJ's accuser met or attempted to meet while he was suffering from cancer, and apparently the kid's family tried to hustle George out of some of the cash he earned by being the Latino Ray Romano. Understandably, George Lopez's tale was one of the most important parts of the MJ defense. So, if you're a prepubescent boy living in Bahrain, you may or may not have a fairly legitimate reason to dislike the comedic stylings of one George Lopez. Those of you that enjoy a little Lopez, however, can catch the comedian at 8 p.m. Saturday in a live appearance at the Nokia Theatre, 1001 Nextstage Drive in Grand Prairie. Tickets are $45 to $60 and parking is $12 to $25, so make sure to car-pool. Call 972-647-5700 or visit ticketmaster.com.
Fri., May 4, 8 p.m.; Sun., May 6
