Communicating Nonsense

Meet a sexpot from the future

A time-traveling dominatrix is pursued through three time periods by a homicidal maniac as she hustles to save the lives of two of his victims, who happen to be the future late wives of the client the hooker was called to service in a hotel room in the year 2014. Whew! Got that? Supposedly Alan Ayckbourn's play Communicating Doors not only covers all that plot territory but is funny too. Sounds doubtful. On the other hand, if you sum up the plot of A Midsummer Night's Dream in one sentence, it doesn't sound exactly sound sensible either. Does Ayckbourn's play keep all its many gears meshing coherently? To find out, check out Theatre Britain's staging of Communicating Doors, opening at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity River Arts Center, 2600 N. Stemmons Freeway, No. 180. Tickets are $15 ($12 for seniors). Call 972-490-4202 or visit theatre-britain.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: June 1. Continues through June 18
