If you attend a baseball game this week, you're much better off seeing the Frisco Roughriders than the Texas Rangers. That's not much of a hot sports opinion—the Rangers are currently on a road trip through Chicago and Kansas City, so any visits to the Ballpark in AmeriQuest this week will probably disappoint (even if the parking is awesome). But Rangers games are a gamble. Sure, you might luck out and catch a fly ball when the Rangers blast away long balls, but the barely-over-.500 club is always a bullpen meltdown away from blowing a lead. Why set yourself up for disappointment when the local minor-league team delivers cheap American-pastime fun without any expectations? See the Roughriders take on the Springfield Cardinals at Dr Pepper Ballpark, 7300 Roughrider Trail in Frisco, 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $9 to $18.
