Work Book

Cohen delves into working America

The best way to show America how the working class lives, Esther Cohen figured, was to give janitors, cabbies and other low-wage workers cameras to document their lives. The result is a new book called Unseen America, which Cohen will sign 7 p.m. Thursday at Borders West Village, 3600 McKinney Ave. As one program participant said, "A lot of people assume you are what your job is, taking out garbage and fixing plumbing. They don't realize that there's an artful soul to everybody."
Thu., June 1, 7 p.m.
