The Palace offers a chase-filled double feature

I wasn't really sure who the Grapevine Heritage Foundation was at first, but they've charmed the pants right off of me with this event. Yes, I am that easy. In conjunction with the North Texas Mustang Club, they're presenting a "classic car double feature." Along with some sweet-ass Ford Mustangs, the Foundation will screen Bullitt and The French Connection. In the midst of classic American sports cars, you might actually feel the rush of the car chases in each film. Otherwise, it would be another trite mention of the obvious. We all know what these Oscar-winning movies are famous for...or at least, you should. But how's this for trivia? According to IMDB.com, 1968's Bullitt is the first Hollywood movie to use "bullshit" in its script. It took that long? The films screen Saturday at the Palace Arts Center, 300 S. Main St. in Grapevine. Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen, begins at 7 p.m. and The French Connection with Gene Hackman begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are a cheap $7.50. Call 817-410-3100 or visit palace-theatre.com.
Sat., June 10, 7 p.m.
