Country Courtin'

Kidnapping, assault and an avalanche make for one hell of a bachelor party, no doubt, as evidenced in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. The musical, based on the short story The Sobbin' Women, by Stephen Vincent Benét, centers around a group of biblically named mountain men who set out to find mates at any cost. As with most men, they make colorful work of wood choppin' and barn raisin', turning every chore into a lavishly choreographed dance number. Rest assured (as with most abductions), romance blossoms; you'll find a happy ending at the end of this hillbilly love story. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and runs through July 1 at the Artisan Center Theater, 404 E. Pipeline Road in Hurst. Tickets are $13 and under. Call 817-284-1200 or visit artisanct.com.
Mondays, Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 3 p.m. Starts: June 16. Continues through July 1
