This is serious stuff, folks. I don't want to alarm anyone or cause unjust anxiety, but according to press materials, ELLE DÉCOR’s Dining by Design is "the pinnacle of tabletop celebrations." The pinnacle, people. This is as good as it gets. I know we've all experienced what we thought were exceptional tabletop celebrations and viewed what we believed to be the best in tabletop furnishings. But we were flat-out wrong. And you don't want to wait and see if next year's celebration is going to be even better, because they've already declared that this year's event, benefiting DIFFA/Dallas, is the ultimate. The 11-foot-by-11-foot settings designed by architect David Rockwell, ELLE DÉCOR's editor-in-chief Margaret Russell and others, will be on display in the Dallas Market Center's Trade Mart atrium from Wednesday through June 28, with a preview cocktail party sponsored by Dallas Market Center (tickets $75) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. June 23.
