An Artful Trek

14th Street honors Halliburton’s Journey

When I heard Journey was coming to an art gallery in Plano, I couldn't wait to get all "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" north of 635. With "Open Arms," I would welcome the band into the suburban fold. Then, somebody told me Journey at the 14th Street Gallery was not, in fact, an appearance by the 29th-best-selling music group ever. "Don't Stop Believin'" I told myself, but there was no hope; this Journey is really an exhibit featuring the work of Grant Halliburton, a Dallas artist and musician who died last November at age 19. Halliburton left behind an impressive collection of art, music and words that constitutes a exhibition beginning Saturday at the 14th Street Gallery, 1412 14th St. in Plano. It's free and the gallery is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. Visit granthalliburton.org.
