Torked Up

Not content to Monkee-walk into relative obscurity, Peter Tork is known for more than songs about daydream believers—he is also the singer, guitarist and keyboard player for a rotating band called the Shoe Suede Blues. It's the other end of the musical spectrum from the pop ditties of his youth, but don't be surprised if you hear some blasts from his past too. Peter Tork and Shoe Suede Blues perform 8 p.m. Wednesday at Poor David's Pub, 1313 S. Lamar St. Admission is $20. Call 214-565-1295 or visit poordavidspub.com.
Wed., July 12, 8 p.m.
