Hasn't Lost His Touch, Man

Is there such a thing as Kumar Pallana overload? Not for fans of movies like Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Terminal, each of which featured the quiet-yet-charismatic 87-year-old Indian actor. But locals know that Pallana is more than a guy with endearing bit parts in Wes Anderson movies; he's also an entertainer, a storyteller and a longtime practitioner of yoga who could be found at Dallas' yoga-loving Cosmic Café for years. If you're all about Pallana overload, park your keister at Park Cities Yoga, 5757 W. Lovers Lane, No. 216, where he will teach yoga lessons at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Sunday (or meet him on Sunday at 4 p.m. for a free, non-yoga meet-and-greet). Also, catch a free, full-on Kumar performance--plate spinning, juggling, the works--on Monday at 8:30 p.m. at Cosmic Café, 2912 Oak Lawn Ave. Yoga lessons range from $20 to $45. Call 214-350-2269 or call parkcitiesyoga.com.
Sat., Aug. 5, 9 a.m.; Sun., Aug. 6, 10 & 11:45 a.m.
