Hey Casanova

Raise your hand if you know that Duncan Sheik had an album after 1996's self-titled release that included the seemingly triple-tracked vocal wonder of "Barely Breathing." Keep them up if you know that Sheik actually has five albums to his credit, and four of them are far superior to that soft rock schlock we'd bet 10 bucks he wishes wasn't his most well-known song. Sheik has often been applauded, albeit under the radar, for his variations, his reincarnation, from album to album. With his latest, White Limousine, Sheik keeps the variety show going with string arrangements on several songs, but keeps his trademark poetry and romantic delivery. He'll offer personal tours of his White Limousine when he performs at 8:30 p.m. Friday as part of Bend Studio's Intimate Concert Series. For this one, the show takes place at Sons of Hermann Hall, 3414 Elm St. Vienna Teng opens. Tickets are $12 to $25. Visit bendstudio.com/intimate_concerts.htm.
Fri., Aug. 4, 8:30 p.m.
