Inspirational art doesn't get a lot of rave reviews these days. Somehow, cool points go to artists that use dark, creepy and lurid topics, not the hope-filled ones. But that's so not fair. Take into consideration Snapshots of Survival. This is an art exhibition presented by Gilda's Club Worldwide and sponsored by sanofi-aventis. It features the art of those affected by colorectal cancer�patients, family and friends�but who have hope regarding cancer survival. Granted, the topic of cancer (of any kind) can be dark, bleak even, but these artists have created some uplifting, inspired and even celebratory pieces. Most people can't get past memories of bad traffic to say, "Good morning." But Snapshots participants have looked cancer in the face and decided to create instead of cower. Talk about winning some cool points. Check out Snapshots of Survival through Tuesday in the Plaza Breezeway of the Charles A.
