In the summer months, Mom turns to her "dark cult of Angel worship." Funny, according to Amazon.com's book description, that's what the protagonist discovers in Melanie Wells' The Soul Hunter. Wait. We can't seem to find any references to right field, bull pens or batting statistics; we just see nods to battling for souls, death and biblical superstar Noah. Oh wait, this is about those other angels (wings, not bats). Wells signs copies of her latest release 7 p.m. Thursday at Barnes & Noble, 700 W. Northwest Highway (214-739-1124), and 2 p.m. Saturday at Borders, 5500 Lovers Lane (214-265-0824).
Thu., Sept. 7, 7 p.m.
