Toad You So

Please Frog-give your baby-sitter?

As a young baby-sitter, the Frog and Toad series by Arnold Lobel was an instrumental tool in our sitting supply case. No matter which ankle-biter I had to preside over for the evening and no matter how totally irritating they were spraying bathwater or how disgusting they were during dinnertime, nine times out of 10 they were perfect angels during Frog and Toad story time. They'd laugh at Frog and want the jaded grump of a Toad to join the party. And we'd end the night on a happy note...even if I was horrible and told them that Mommy would only come home if they'd go to bed (and yeah, maybe I used that line during crying jags also). Seriously, kids, I'm sorry about that. I was too young for such responsibility. Let me make it up to you. For old times' sake, I'll take you to Creative Arts Theatre and School's production of A Year With Frog and Toad 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October 1. CATS is located at 1100 W. Randol Mill Road in Arlington. Tickets are $10. Call 817-861-2287 or visit creativearts.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Sept. 22. Continues through Oct. 1
