Sweet fried Tilt-A-Whirl, it's time! Friday through October 22, your chance to eat like you have a third stomach and scream your lungs out in happy happiness is here. The State Fair of Texas is back—with its auto show and its livestock auction and its gigantic Ferris wheel. It's so pure. Remember last year when you ate tamale balls and never even made a joke about it? And how long has it been since you ate a foot-long corn dog? Or funnel cake drenched in strawberries and topped with whipped cream, followed immediately by a caramel-covered apple? Too long, my friend. Too long. This year, they're adding Fried Praline Perfection and Fried Coke to the mix. They actually found a way to fry Coke. How can you miss that? Big Tex is calling you out. He's opening his gates and waving you in like, "Can you handle this, biiaaaatch?" And you'd better answer with five rounds of Pirate Ship. Ever puked in front of little kids? It's the best.
