The Beach Boys visit Billy Bob's

With the nightmarishly blistering heat of this cruel Dallas summer seemingly behind us, the last thing on your mind is surfing, right? Well, Saturday you'd better wax down your board and shine up your spurs because the kings of the feel-good summer hit, The Beach Boys, are coming to Billy Bob's (2520 Rodeo Plaza Drive in Fort Worth). This surf- and hot-rod-themed show should be a nice end-of-summer event for the whole family to attend. Over the last several years while former Beach Boy Brian Wilson has emerged from his drug-induced fog to complete his unfinished masterpiece, Smile, and release it to critical acclaim, his old band mates have toured relentlessly, becoming one of the longest-running human jukeboxes in the history of popular music. Mom, Dad, Grandpa and little Timmy will all surely enjoy a cabana full of familiar tunes spanning four decades of the Boys' career. Seeing them churn it out at Billy Bob's, the world's largest honky-tonk, may seem surreal, but at least if little Timmy gets bored with the show, he can take a ride on the mechanical bull. Surf's up...yee-haw! Tickets are $12 to $32. Visit ticketmaster.com.
Sat., Oct. 7, 10:30 p.m.
