If you could somehow cross The Daily Show with All the President's Men and add a touch of A Chorus Line, you might end up with NEWSical, an inspired musical that satires current events and familiar targets such as Martha Stewart. This is the kind of high-concept production that will either work magically or fail miserably, although The New York Times gave the play a laudatory review. Incredibly, the rapidly updating NEWSical features new songs and material every week, nearly making it possible for the writers to keep up with the latest Republican congressional scandal.
