Shrill Happens

I have mixed feelings about haunted houses. There is nothing like that thrill of some blood-covered ghoul lunging toward me from the darkness. But when I notice the same masks I saw at Target while shopping for my own costume, the experience kind of loses its fear factor. I long for the Haunted White House, where Condoleezza Rice makes a flying leap from the Oval Office with scythe in hand. Or worse, Dick Cheney in his hunting gear. Scary stuff! Until then, I'm dead set on going to Screams Halloween Theme Park. Four haunted houses for a mere $19.99? At that price, I'll let Big Lots costumes scare the heck out of me.
