Tunes' Tunes

Part of what makes Looney Tunes characters live and breathe is their symphonic accompaniment. It's the muted trumpet that accompanies Daffy Duck's bewilderment after having his beak blown to the other side of his head or the staccato violins that accent Elmer Fudd's footsteps as he tiptoes up to a rabbit hole. Many installments from Warner Bros.' golden era of theatrical cartooning, like the 1957 Wagner spoof "What's Opera, Doc?" and 1950's "The Rabbit of Seville," relied heavily on beautiful orchestral scores to shape the rambunctious activities onscreen. Super size the old Saturday morning cartoon as your favorite Looney Tunes chestnuts are projected on the big screen and George Daugherty conducts the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in "Bugs Bunny on Broadway" at Bass Performace Hall, 525 Commerce St. in Fort Worth.
