Smokestack Somersaults

Get ready, because the circus is coming to town. Don't worry, though, because you won't have to wade your way through PETA protesters to see it, and a French translator will not be needed if you want to see some fine acrobatics. In director Chris Lashua's Birdhouse Factory, acrobats (featuring former members of Cirque du Soleil and the Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe) team up with early 20th-century machines to tell their tale. Inspired by the people and times of the Industrial Revolution (Modern Times, anyone?), man and machine work together in this industrial acrobatic circus, telling a story of love and loss in their pursuit to build a better birdhouse. Make a little birdhouse in your soul as Birdhouse Factory takes the stage at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. Tickets are $26 to $55. Call 972-744-4650 or visit eisemanncenter.com.
Fri., Nov. 17, 8 p.m.; Sat., Nov. 18, 8 p.m.
