A Big Holiday Combo

Traditions unite under the accordion

The holiday season officially begins on Thanksgiving Day. Despite all the Target and Old Navy commercials, despite the fact that Starbucks employees have been donning their seasonal red shirts for weeks now, and despite that house off of Live Oak and Munger that has had festive Christmas lights up since Halloween, the holidays officially commence on Thanksgiving Day and not a nanosecond earlier. That's why Santa Claus is always at the end of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. It's, like, a scientific fact of nature...or something. Thankfully, Brave Combo knows this and schedules their yearly Holiday Blast accordingly. As explosive and enjoyable as any given performance from Denton's Grammy-winning polka punk powerhouse, the Holiday Blast is the good ol' Brave Combo we all know and love, covered in candy canes, dreidels and sugarplums. Kick-ass klezmer and carnival caroling meet under the mistletoe at the Brave Combo Annual Holiday Blast, 9 p.m. Saturday at Sons of Hermann Hall, 3414 Elm St. The show is all ages and cover is $15. Call 214-747-4422 or visit sonsofhermann.com.
Sat., Nov. 25, 9 p.m.
