A Christmas Tradition

Throw in a little Tuna with your tinsel

Every family has its holiday traditions. Maybe your family puts meaningful ornaments on your gigantic Christmas tree together. Or, every year, you decorate homemade holiday cookies. Maybe you're that one family that goes caroling in matching sweaters (How do you find those fantastic matching sweaters and perfect harmonies?). My family's favorite Christmas activity is watching cross-dressers and listening to some Patsy Cline. And there are more opportunities to do that in Dallas than you might think. One good time to see some man-in-a-dress is 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. this Saturday at the Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth, where you can see A Tuna Christmas, with the original Joe Sears and Jaston Williams cast. Set in Tuna, Texas, this sequel to Greater Tuna paints a perfect picture of Christmas, complete with Fa-La-La-ing, Texans butchering the Spanish language, used guns and cheating husbands. So, start a new family tradition this holiday season and go see it. Because cross-dressing is awesome. But, cross-dressing for Christmas is even more awesome. Tickets will cost you $20 to $60. Call the Bass Performance Hall box office at 817-212-4280, the Casa Mañana Theatre box office at 817-332-2272, or visit casamanana.org.
Sat., Dec. 23, 2 & 8 p.m.
