Fresh off the Punisher tour with Carlos Mencia, Cristela Alonzo returns to her home ground on her own this week. As a writer for Mencia's Comedy Central show, Mind of Mencia, Alonzo helps Mencia rant about everything from race relations to gas prices. On her own, she tends to mix it up a little more, dropping F-bombs, singing '80s tunes and talking about Latino dramas. Personally, I don't think enough people are singing '80s songs interspersed with F-bombs. I'm not even sure if Alonzo does that as part of her act, but somebody should. Onstage, she comes out screaming, sometimes literally, and barrages the audience with her super fast-paced wit. As each of her Improv appearances is better than the last, you might say she puts the "Improv" in "improve." ...Wow, that was bad. Alonzo appears Thursday through Saturday at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road. Tickets are $11 to $15. Call 972-404-8501 or visit improvclubs.com.
