Crying for Clooney

Babies ogle George at the Angelika

The Good German is a noir-style romance-thriller-mystery set in post-World War II Berlin. Shot in black and white and full of references to the Potsdam Peace Conference, allies and the Russian Zone, it's the perfect flick for the history buff. Especially one with kids. The film's being shown as a Cry Baby Matinee at the Angelika Film Center, which means the lights stay up, there's a diaper-changing table provided and the volume is lower. If there's a better way to enjoy modernized film noir than to sit next to a poo-filled diaper attached to a weeping child attached to a naked breast for two hours, I'd like to know what it is. The Good German shows at 1:30 p.m. this Tuesday and Wednesday at the Angelika, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane. Tickets are $6.50; yammering tots under 5 get in free. Call 214-841-4700.
Jan. 2-3, 1:30 p.m.
