Weather Girl

Listen up fo' Frizzle

These days, you'd think most kids would be taught by their parents to run like the wind if a stranger offered them a ride on a "magic" school bus. That's how youngsters wind up on milk cartons or with nasty hallucinogen habits. But have no fears, parents, about Ms. Frizzle's magic wheels at the Dallas Museum of Nature & Science, 1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park. All the friendly, frizzy-haired teacher—the star of a series of children's educational books—wants to do is teach your kids about the wonders of weather. So it should be pretty safe to take your kidlings to the museum at 10 a.m. Saturday to hear The Magic School Bus Kicks Up a Stormread aloud by a Ms. Frizzle stand-in. The reading also includes several hands-on interactive exhibits to help teach kids how weather is made. The exhibit is free with the price of museum admission. Call 214-428-5555 or visit scienceplace.org.
Sat., Jan. 13, 10 a.m.
