Art Floaters

The pleasure quarters of ancient Tokyo were legendary for their hedonism, and their activities are immortalized through paintings called ukiyo-e by some of the artists, bohemians and courtesans that frequented these "floating worlds." The world's largest collection of these rare customized paintings includes those by artists such as Hokusai, Utamaro and Harunobu. Drama and Desire: Paintings From the Floating World runs through April 29 at the Kimbell Art Museum, 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 to $9. Call 817-332-8451 or visit kimbellart.org.
