Famed spider reinvents himself

Image makeovers are all the rage. These days, Barbie's got a cell phone, and some stores are even carrying Baby Daddy Ken this spring. Years ago, Little Richard jumped the shark for a soul version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" that made even 10-year-old skin crawl. Now, it seems the itsy bitsy spider doesn't wanna be itsy bitsy any more—he wants to be eensy weensy. The Eensy Weensy Spyder Tries Again! is the title of a new interactive children's play at Artie's Playhouse in Hurst. Guess "itsy bitsy" gets a bad rap after that whole sex tape scandal. Take the kids to see Eensy through March 12 at the Playhouse, 420 E. Pipeline Road. Shows are 4:30 p.m. Mondays and 10:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are $3. Visit artisanCT.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.; Mondays, 4:30 p.m. Starts: Feb. 17. Continues through March 12
