I'm going to steer away from the obvious jokes that could be made about the gay rodeo. No Brokeback jokes here. That's so 2005. Besides, the rumbling and tumbling these guys and gals do prove they are no joke. And they've been roping cows, riding horses and even two-stepping at a high level for some 23 years. I've never seen a rodeo up close, but by the looks of it on the Versus channel, I think I'd prefer the sidelines. Getting bucked does not look like fun. Well, by a mad cow anyway. The Texas Gay Rodeo Association's Big D Rodeo rides in Friday through Sunday at the Fair Park Pavilion, 1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd. Tickets are $15. Call 214-346-2107 or visit tgra.org.
