Dyed Green

With Posh and Becks moving stateside, people in this country may start caring about soccer, er, football, a bit more. We'll go to the games, we'll join Hoops Nation, we'll proudly wear our red and white and we'll be hooligans. OK, maybe not that last part, because that'd be a bit scary. Just watch Green Street Hooligans<?B>, the 2005 film about football firms in England, and you'll understand. Sure, Elijah Wood is thoroughly unconvincing as a journalism student-turned-thug, but the movie's depiction of the violent brotherhood of these firms makes it well worth your time. The movie will screen as part of UNT's Global Film Series at 7:30 p.m. Monday in room 184 of the Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts building, one block west of Welch and Chestnut Streets. The film is free to public. Call 970-565-2537.
Mon., March 12, 7:30 p.m.
