Joe Who?

For some boys who never grow up, G.I. Joe is a series of 12-inch dolls nameless except for military designation. For a younger generation, G.I. Joe is a line of 3 3/4-inch action figures packaged with file cards fleshing out enough characters and back story to inspire an after-school cartoon. If you have strong opinions about which is the "Real American Hero," then you'll probably be in attendance at the Great Texas G.I. Joe Show, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Civic Center, 411 W. Arapaho Road. Admission is free. Visit texasgijoeshow.com. (The real Joes were definitely the action figures; the older Joes were practically Barbie dolls.)
Sat., March 17, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., March 18, 12-5 p.m.
