Dynasty causes a ruckus in Bass Hall

Typecasting always works. Charlotte Rae didn't just portray Mrs. Edna Ann Garrett, she was Mrs. Garrett. Jim J. Bullock was Monroe on Too Close for Comfort. Mr. T was Clubber Lang. Similarly, he was also B.A. Baracus. Kinda the same dude. What happens when you go against type? John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd in Neighbors, that's what happens. Thankfully, Joan Collins and Linda Evans stick to the ol' "art imitating life" bit, playing a pair of longtime rival actresses attempting to revive their withering careers in a stage production as Casa Mañana presents Legends! at the Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. Weekend matinees are at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $25 to $75. Call 817-321-5028 or visit casamanana.org.
Tue., April 3, 7:30 p.m.
