Moon Landing

It's all happening at White Rock

Do you ever feel as though the rhythms of your daily life are inexplicably linked to the moon and the tides? Is there a dreamcatcher hanging from the rear-view mirror of your Volkswagen/Volvo/Prius? Have you ever bought a Putamayo world music sampler from the rack at Whole Foods? Are you by any chance a Fleetwood Mac fan? Then this Saturday at 6 p.m., train your ears on White Rock Lake and listen for the sound of the tribal conch, for it beckons you to Moonlady Night at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther Drive. Join a who's who of Dallas holistic practitioners for the burning of incense, the eating of hummus, the reading of Tarot cards and the impersonating of Stevie Nicks, as well as performances by folk singer Lu Mitchell, chant-dancer Ya Elbe and Ukulele Lady Noel Tardy. You can even get a henna tattoo to commemorate the evening, though we're pretty sure the sticky sweet smell of Nag Champa and the pounding rhythms of the lakeside drum circle will stay with you just as long. Party on, East Dallas druids. We'd join you ourselves, but unfortunately we're penciled in for an evening of hot dogs, Lone Star and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Call 214-670-8570 or visit moonlady.com.
Sat., March 31, 6 p.m.
