Your Baseball Season Guide to Pre- and Post-Game Eats and Drinks in Arlington
By Lauren Drewes Daniels
For those hipsters out there who think Coldplay is too big to remain trendy, Guster might just be the band for you. Over the course of a decade, this Boston area band has built a surprisingly large grassroots following playing seemingly unassuming pop that reveals more with each listen. Ganging Up on the Sun, Guster's sixth effort, which was released last summer, may well be their best yet, full of low-key, well-constructed gems such as "Satellite" and "Manifest Destiny." Guitarists and singers Ryan Miller and Adam Gardner are unafraid to show their soft and sentimental side, preferring polish to power, while adding flourishes of alt-country to their memorable (but optimistic) tales of heartbreak. Music this well thought out can sometimes be erroneously labeled lightweight, yet Guster's craft places just the right amount of meat on them bones.
