Being There

Wilco has been my favorite band since I was about 15, so needless to say I bought Jeff Tweedy's solo DVD the week it came out, like a proper fanboy. Therefore you probably won't catch me watching Sunken Treasure: Live in the Pacific Northwest 9 p.m. Wednesday at the AllGood Café (2934 Main St.), but that shouldn't scare you away from catching one of the better concert films you'll see this year. And while it's certainly no I Am Trying to Break Your Heart<?I>, filmmakers Cristoph Green and Brendan Canty—previously known for their work on the Burn to Shine series, which documents bands playing in dilapidated houses right before demolition—nevertheless do an admirable job of bringing the Tweedy concert experience to the screen, taking footage from five beautifully shot solo shows and a few hundred miles of rainy Northwestern highway.
