Everlasting Love

The moment I saw footage of Celine Dion singing a "duet" with the King, I pointed my finger of blame right at little miss Natalie Cole. Yeah, she sang next to a screen of her dad, and that's way more acceptable, but it only led the way to myriad posthumous duets albums and a freakin' holographic Elvis on American Idol. Actually, you know, I should thank Natalie Cole; she sort of set up the ski ramp that shot AI right over that pesky little shark. But all CGI talk aside, Cole's coming to town, and she's got a serious set of pipes and that sincere-but-cool-as-ice attitude that every woman wishes she could pull off. See her in the super-acoustic setting of the Meyerson Symphony Center, 2501 Flora St., 8 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets are $45 to $125. Call 214-692-0203 or visit dallassymphony.com.
Tue., May 15, 8 p.m.
