Found Art

"Look what I found!" That exclamation can indicate the discovery of trash or treasure, or in some cases, both. That's the case for Central Texas artist and folk-art dealer Steve Wiman, who creates installation art from found objects that could be considered plain. His work features objects in various colors and textures pinned to the wall to create new colors and shapes that resemble mosaics. Wiman shares gallery space this month with Joan Fabian, a San Antonio artist whose paintings, inspired by a recent residency in Rotterdam, depict unconventional representations of Dutch life. Wiman's Found Objects and Fabian's Doing Dutch run through June 16 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St. in Fort Worth. Admission is free. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Call 817-738-1938 or visit fwcac.com.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: May 11. Continues through June 16
