Rollin' in Grapevine
Here's an odd little fact: The Bay City Rollers have a best-of CD, released in 1995. And, get this, it has 21 tracks, only one of which is titled "Saturday Night," their hit single from 1975. (The chorus: "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night!" Repeat ad nauseam.) Who knew they were so, um, prolific? Apparently, the good folks in charge of Grapevine's 23rd Annual Main Street Days, that's who. The Bay City boys are headlining the festival's music on—you guessed it—Saturday night. The fest, which runs Friday through Sunday, also includes birds of prey shows, scuba diving, BMX stunts, rock climbing, bungee jumping and lumberjack demonstrations—because nothing says Grapevine more than men in plaid swinging axes. Maybe the Rollers will sing the lumberjack song from Monty Python. The festival is in downtown Grapevine and begins at 10 a.m. on Friday.
